Johnny Lum Ho has been a friend for years. When I was manager at a Banyan Drive hotel, he sometimes refused payment, in favor of making sure the visitors enjoyed the music. A humble man of few words, we will miss him.
On Sunday, family members confirmed the passing of kumu hula Johnny Lum Ho. In a statement, they said, “Mahalo nui to all of you who have reached out with thoughts of aloha and concern. We are deeply saddened by the sudden loss of our beloved brother, uncle, and Kumu Hula Johnny Lum Ho.”
